| 90 families will be eligible for the grants, the application deadline for which ends on February 28 | The municipalities participate for the first time in the management of the files, which will speed up the processing The Ministry of Development and Infrastructures opens the deadline for submitting requests for aid for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of houses in the Urban and Rural Regeneration and Renovation Areas (ARRU) of the municipalities of Caravaca de la Cruz, Mula and Pliego.

They can be requested until next February 28.

These grants allow financing works in homes and buildings to improve conservation, accessibility or energy efficiency.

Thus, roofs may be improved, elevators or access ramps and thermal insulation installed, among other actions.

The general director of Housing, Jos Francisco Lajara, reported that a total of 90 families from the three localities will be able to apply for these grants that have a budget of 900,600 euros.

He explained that "it will contribute to the economic reactivation through the revitalization of the historic centers of these municipalities, and will be achieved thanks to the rehabilitation of their buildings and homes." Lajara stressed that "an agreement has been reached with the municipalities of Caravaca de la Cruz, Mula and Pliego so that the processing of these subsidies is carried out with greater agility compared to other calls".

In this regard, the Ministry has empowered the councils to use the tools for managing aid files and to process applications.

"These grants set a maximum of 12,000 euros for each home that is rehabilitated and 30,000 euros for certain cases of reconstruction due to a situation of substandard housing," reported the director, who pointed out that the beneficiaries of the aid can be sole owners of homes, communities of owners, groups of communities of owners, or consortia and associative management entities.

Grants will not exceed 40 percent of the cost of the rehabilitation action.

However, in certain cases they may reach 75 percent, if it is justified that a person over 65 years of age lives in the dwelling to be rehabilitated, there is a low level of income, disabilities or situations of exclusion and special vulnerability.

Submission of applications Applications will be submitted through the one-stop shop or electronically, through headquarters.carm.es.

Along with this document, the completed application model that was published in the BORM of December 28 (http://www.borm.es/#/home/sumario/28-12-2020) must be attached; as well as a copy of the CIF or NIF, depending on the case; public deed of horizontal division of the building; cadastral reference of the building for which you are requesting rehabilitation assistance; and the building evaluation report signed by a competent technician.
