The Socialist parliamentary group supports that request the Natural statement Unesco World Heritage Site for Gap La Higuera in Pliego.

The head of Socialist Culture, Jesus Navarro, claimed, however, that this request be extended to other important caves in the region such as the Puerto Calasparra.

"Being an important request, it seems that only this statement insufficient to Cave La Higuera is requested because there are other gaps in other areas such as the Northeast and the Altiplano which should be equally considered."

The most significant examples cited the cave of El Puerto in Calasparra, the El Pulpo in Cieza, the uncovered gap in Mazarrón Isla Plana, El Pozo de Jumilla or Gap Vulture in Caravaca, among the most significant.
