¡ This is the only action that was to run to give the entire Postrasvase Tajo-Segura en la Cuenca del Segura and includes the construction of a pipeline transporting the irrigation of Pliego a maximum annual volume of 1,140,000 meters of water Cu Tejo.
The general director of Water, Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs (MARM), Marta Moreno, visited the works resourcing the Tajo-Segura irrigation Pliego (Murcia) that will bring water Tejo to irrigators in this municipality and which will conclude the most important infrastructure Segura Basin.
Marta Moreno has been accompanied, among others, the government representative in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, the mayor of Pliego, Isabel Toledo, the president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS), José Salvador Fuentes Zorita, and Director General of Irrigation and Rural Development in the Region of Murcia, Julio Bernal.
The Director General of Water has monitored the progress of work, in which the MARM invested 6,595,000 euros, which is scheduled for early 2010.
This action is the only thing left to run to give the entire Postrasvase Tajo-Segura en la Cuenca del Segura and thus, in the Region of Murcia.
Technical Features
The works, which began in September 2008 and are being carried out by Ferrovial Agroman, SA, have a lead time of 20 months and include the construction of a pipeline to transport the irrigation of a maximum annual volume Pliego 1,140,000 cubic meters of water from the Tagus.
In particular, the point of discharge will be located on the right bank of the Tajo-Segura Postrasvase, up to actuation of the Tooth, in the town of Alhama de Murcia.
Furthermore, CHS is building the pumping station, near the service road of that channel, in the foothills of the Sierra de La Muela.
From this point will start driving, is a pipe of 15 kilometers in length (and diameter of between 500 and 700 mm) across the landscape of ravines Gebas, parallel to the road to Alhama de Murcia, Pliego and across the High the Almolaya, until the final point in the South Balsa General Community Irrigation Conditions.
The municipal by driving are running Alhama de Murcia, Mula and Pliego.
The approximate area of clearing is 41,000 square meters, the excavation volume of 93,000 cubic meters volume filled with 80,660 m3 and the volume of sand in the bed and fill pipes of 6,900 m3.
With regard to environmental measures, the CHS has replanted 4,200 m2 of land planted with broom 300 units and as many pine.
