The community built an amphitheater with capacity for a thousand people in Las Canadas Statement (26/03/2010)

The Director General of Planning and Housing, Antonio Navarro, accompanied by the mayor of Pliego, Isabel Toledo, today visited the refurbishment works being carried out on the Rambla de Las Cañadas, where the Ministry is building an amphitheater seating thousand people.

The action before the summer ends and has a total cost of 1.3 million euros, of which the regional government funded a million and the City of Tender provides the remaining amount.

This site, set up by two streams and a small peninsula known as 'The Peppers', will become a large urbanized landscaped public space for leisure and entertainment.

The area has an area of 21,700 square meters and is located on the highest part of the population, in close contact with the saw and the districts of the town.

For the adequacy of this space gullied has been phasing out its four areas for various uses such as an amphitheater with capacity for a thousand people, sports fields with bleachers and a traditional playground, and a recreation area with barbecues and picnic.

This space will also have a large green area for relaxing called 'Park of the Essence', which will feature native plants.

As elements of protection and separation between the different areas will be built retaining walls, to keep the different levels of each of the spaces.

Navarro said that "this action will result in an important area for entertainment, leisure and relaxation will help to improve the quality of life for residents of the town of Pliego and will be an attraction for visitors and tourists." General Director emphasized that "action is included in the program to the adequacy of public spaces of the municipalities in the region, where it seeks to recover these environments understood as more inclusive of city life, able to unite and promote physical and social infrastructure of the city. "
